Hidden Hollow Farm is owned and operated by the Hoppes family: Heath, Katie, Ben(4) and Will(2). We are located in the scenic Loess Hills near Council Bluffs, Iowa. We are a diversified family farm producing organic grain and hay, ethically raised livestock and a variety of other traditional farm products.
Hidden Hollow Farm was founded in 2015 on 80 acres of neglected land tucked away in the rolling hills of western Iowa. Heath is a Navy veteran and pilot and Katie works in the healthcare field. Neither of us have a farming background. Our desire for better tasting and healthier food and disillusionment with the industrial food system fueled our passion to start our own farm.
Our belief is that healthy, biologically active soil is THE key to producing quality crops and nutrient dense food. We also believe that foods produced from these soils contribute directly to better human health. With that in mind, our top priority at Hidden Hollow Farm is to improve our soils.
We are currently establishing an organic crop rotation, raising broiler chickens and tending a large garden. We are working to restore the native prairie pastures in order prepare the farm for the addition of livestock. In the future we plan to add grass-fed lamb, grass-fed beef, pastured pork, eggs and who knows what else?!
Our mission is to produce the most delicious, healthy and nutritious foods in an ethical system that will improve the soil and environment over time.
We would love to have you as part of our farm journey! To receive updates and notices when products are available please sign up for our email newsletter by sending a message through the contact page on this site.
